Meet John, the Person Behind BMSense

Hi, I’m John, the owner and technician behind BMSense. I’m a mobile BMW and MINI mechanic based in Sydney.

When you get in touch, you’re speaking with me, and I’m also the person who carries out the work on your car.

How BMSense Started

After years working in workshops and BMW and MINI dealerships, I started taking on weekend car repairs as a hobby in 2022. As demand grew and more people started getting in touch, I decided to create BMSense.

I wanted to offer a personal service where customers could feel comfortable asking questions and understand the work being recommended. Having the repairs carried out at home or work also makes things easier, without having to organise transport or leave your car somewhere for the day.

I focus on battery replacement and registration / coding, brake pads and discs, and Secure Vehicle Against Rolling gear selector spring repairs. I’m equipped for this work and regularly complete it at customers’ homes and workplaces. I also review BMW and MINI dealership quotes. BMSense operates mainly on weekends, with some weekday evening battery replacements available by arrangement.

My BMW and MINI Background

My career began in the UK, working in independent workshops and with German vehicle specialists, before moving into BMW and MINI dealerships.

I qualified as a BMW Senior Technician in the UK and have more than 12 years of experience working in BMW and MINI dealerships across the UK and Australia. My background includes both workshop and customer service roles.

That experience has taught me how important it is to carry out the work properly and explain it clearly. I follow the manufacturer’s repair instructions for the work I do and take the time to answer your questions.

How I Look After My Customers

My main goal is to provide excellent customer service and make sure you feel comfortable asking questions. You don’t need to know about cars to ask why something needs replacing or what your options are.

I don’t pressure sell. I’ll explain what I’ve found and why I’m recommending a repair, so you can feel confident when deciding what to do. I’ll show you worn parts, measurements or test results and explain what they mean.

I treat my customers as I would my own friends or family and aim to give the best advice I can. If another mechanic or workshop would be better suited to help, I’ll be honest with you and explain why.

You’ll receive a clear quote before work begins. If anything else needs attention, I’ll discuss it with you before carrying out any extra work.

I’m a licensed NSW motor vehicle repairer, licence number MVRL63080, and insured for mobile repair work. I also take care to keep the area around your car clean and protected while I’m working.
