Keeping your vehicle’s sunroof drains clear is an important part of long term care. Over time leaves, dust and debris can build up in the sunroof channels which may lead to blocked drains and water flowing into areas it should not reach. Our preventative maintenance service helps reduce the chance of future blockages and protects your interior from potential moisture issues.

Many vehicles rely on four drainage points to move water safely away from the roof area. When these drains begin to clog, the first signs often appear during heavy rain. Regular preventative cleaning keeps the system flowing as intended and offers peace of mind before any issues develop.

The following problems can arise when sunroof drains are not maintained:

Slow Water Flow - Blocked or restricted drains can cause water to pool in the sunroof channel which may eventually overflow into the cabin.

Moisture Buildup - Even a small amount of standing water can create damp smells and increase the chance of mould inside the vehicle.

Interior Trim Damage - If water finds its way past the sunroof tray it can stain or damage headlining and interior trims.

Water Tracking into Electronics - Some vehicles have electrical units positioned low in the cabin. Excess water may reach these areas if drains remain blocked for a long period.

Our service focuses on preventative maintenance only. We inspect the upper sunroof channels, remove light debris and check the drain flow at the time of testing. We use light air pressure to clear the drains safely without removing trims. If a water leak is already present, we can still inspect and clear the drains as part of this service.

In rare circumstances drains may be excessively blocked. If air pressure cannot clear the restriction, the vehicle will need to be taken to an auto shop or specialist for further work, as trim removal or deeper access will be required. We do not offer carpet dry out, trim removal or leak repair.
